The Great Vigil of Easter takes us through salvation history to the dramatic moment of the Resurrection itself, when 'early in the morning on the first day of the week' (John 20:1), Jesus breaks the power of death and rises as the first of God's new creation.
The Easter Vigil is the culmination of the great three days ('Triduum') at the heart of our faith. The liturgy embodies the transition between night and day, death and life, grief and hope, sadness and joy through the Resurrection of Jesus. It is dramatic, powerful, and meaningful.
