We face many different wildernesses: those we choose when we open times and spaces to be present to God, and those we find ourselves thrown into in times of frustration and loss.
Jesus is not far into his public ministry when he has his own wilderness experience. At the end of his forty days alone without food, he has to face down the temptation to use his power for his own benefit.
When we are alone, at the end of our own strength, and facing situations we can't control, where is God?
