How is it even possible to describe -- let alone understand -- God? The doctrine of the Trinity is the best we can do. It's one of the central tenets of the Christian faith, yet it's full of words that contradict each other and math that doesn't work. It all points to the fact that God is beyond our comprehension; yet, at the same time, God is active, relational, and present. We don't have to unravel the mystery; we just get to join the dance.
